    820-3787 : Random Shutdowns

I'm going to mark this one an unsolved mystery. With a fresh drive, and fresh install of Catalina, no issues. With the customer's original drive/install, I was also able to cause it to crash simply by closing the lid and waiting 10 seconds. Every time on the customer drive/install, this would...

    820-3787 : Random Shutdowns

Here's the other strange thing: - It boots consistently using the customers internal SSD (Mojave) - It turns off before it will load into a Catalina bootable USB - It turns off before it will load into a High Sierra fresh external HDD - It boots to my own fresh install Catalina SSD

    820-3787 : Random Shutdowns

It doesn't crash during the switch. I just forced integrated, and it crashed within 5 mins of Runescape. I then forced discreet, and it crashed within 5 mins.

    820-01521: Liquid Damage

First time working on one of these, oh boy (Late 2018 MacBook Air). Liquid hit in the U3200. One one USB-C port, 5v @ 0.001amp. The 2nd port would flash on/off/on/off. I replaced U3200 and a couple of the small caps and resistors in that area that looked gross. Now, both USB-C ports show 5v...

    820-3787 : Random Shutdowns

Further information: This unit will freeze, fans spin up to 100%, and then it will turn off completely. It will turn on right away again via the power button, and has no errors/kernel panic messages on startup. It just boots right up as if nothing is wrong. It will crash, consistently within...

Silly question, did you try a new keyboard?? How about external USB keyboard? Does that function?

    820-3787 : Random Shutdowns

From Mouser hehe. Today, I couldn't get it to boot to an OS. It turns on, sits on the boot option menu forever, will show the Apple logo and load all the up, but then immediately shuts off. It does this with internal drive, external drive, and my bootable Catalina USB. again, wtf.

    It passed EFI ASD... wtf.

    820-3787 : Random Shutdowns

Ah, I didn't bother to check, in another thread I just followed a recommendation to replace one by one and test. Is there a common line to check for a short? The unit I have crashes after about 10 mins of running Runescape (that's the surefire way to make it turn off). The system locks up...

    820-3787 : Random Shutdowns

Replaced all 3 6708 chips with new from Mouser. System is still crashing after replacing all 3. This is a DG model... Further information: This unit will freeze, fans spin up to 100%, and then it will turn off completely. It will turn on right away again via the power button, and has no...

    820-00840 - Liquid damage, won't boot

Both USB-C Ports getting 20v, but 0.1amp. PPBUS_G3H 13.01v PP3V3_S5 is 3.3v I haven't touched these at all yet... power rail listings are new and scary :( Every liquid indicator on this thing is red, but there isn't actually any corrosion I can find. I do believe the customer cleaned it up...

820-3115 - Sluggish in OS, ASD error: Thermal Interface: - Processor: Processor0: TIM Test

Hi All! I have a fun one here which hopefully someone can tag the issue. (Also glad to be back, signed up my early days 2 years ago and was NOT ready for advanced troubleshooting haha). Original Problem: Liquid damage (where exactly... hard to say. The board is pretty clean and it sat on my...

    Recommendations on RepairDesk vs RepairShopr

I'm using RepairShopr. Before I was doing Apple repair full time, my day job was actually in (retail oriented) POS software sales. RepairShopr has some nice features that some of the "big" ones don't have, but also lacks some customizability I crave (but most cloud software does, let's be...
