think we're getting closer, there was a line break which I couldn't see between SMC_XTAL test port and R5110/Y5110 Ran jumper, still same issues but im now getting 1.1V on pin 3 of Y5110 which i guess is good news

Hmmm strange. pin 1 of Y5110 is getting 1.7V every other pin is getting 0v

is it possible at all that both SMC's are actually faulty in the exact same way?

diode for both is 0.499 I don't have an oscilloscope so I just straight up replaced Y5110 but have the same result

no faults, no water. very clean and spotless. This just started happening

replaced all USB controllers. there seems to be some sort of delay with data connections to USB C. for the first 5 mins after the OS boots it doesn't react with external devices (but is able to charge) after 5 mins it's perfectly normal When trying to boot into external drive, it fails halfway...

SOLVED. replaced u7000 again and made sure current sensing circuit has correct resistance. all working. Moral of the story, just because you replace a part doesn't mean it's not faulty again. thank you!

for whatever reason ISL6259 was again shorted at pins 27/28

would it help if i told you i had a suspicion the battery was bad? can a battery cause ppbus faults like this? such as broken current sensing etc?

All good in regards to the traces and solder joints. Changed C7025 and checked if its turned into a wire but it was fine. However pin 23/27 have direct continuity. i'm guessing this is on purpose Resistance between 17/18 is 2-3 ohms and on 27/28 it's around 20-25 ohms so current sensing seems...

the current sensing resisters were toast as well as ISL6259 (short to ground on current sensing pins) R7005 was also high resistance. replaced all of this and all have the correct values now. PPbus is on 4.3 volts. the SMC SCL and SDA lines are both 3.42v I also replaced Q7080 with no change...

Actually, I just realized while the MacBook works, as soon as i hit the power button the SMC resets (turns green) @2informaticos I also cant use option key to boot from my own drive before startup, it does nothing
