looks like there's only 3 choices, a cap the thermistor, and smc
Q5512 and C5512
no physical damage I can see
maybe a shard touched and shorted the cap?
can't seem to find that cap on any laptop board donors, so will have to order from digikey i guess
thermistor on some retina boards...
runs slow after lady cut the stand down and got metal shavings all over the place. i cleaned all the shavings out and didn't see anything wrong per say but i didn't at board that close like under a scope. took me a while to figure out, but ASD gives me CPU proximity TCOp temp sensor error...
yes bil shows fuels and charging when i try another battery. i don't think anyone messed with gpu, though maybe it was replaced by apple under the program
gets power and charges but no visible activity with power button
i'm assuming standard bad gpu, but i've been out of the game so long i can't remember if they would behave this way, my recollection is it would at least turn on right?
what rails should i check?
I have a wonderful 12" macbook which had a bad key. i got a new keyboard from china (first one only the power key seemed to work) this one does fine until i literally screw the bottom case screws on. then it does what the first one they sent me did, power key works but nothing else responds. i...
client brought in a 15" late 2013, powers on but does not finish booting from any drive, os, or even safe mode. so first i tried re-soldering U9300 and changing C9364 330 uf poly-tant cap but the new replacements i had were a little too tall and couldn't properly under heatsink, but i tried :(...
i put on another chip and now all the lines are reading proper at 3.3V, not getting hot anymore. but still no boot. any ideas? maybe i should ultrasonic the whole thing? board didn't really get wet as far as I can tell, but there was just so much crap and debris in there who knows
ok its Q7055 not allowing it to charge, CHRG_BGATE is like 12V same as PPVBAT. I tried another mosfet and it is still doing the same thing. would have to be a bad trace to ISL or C7026 right?
sorry should of noted in original post, was originally brought in not charging but i was able to run off batt before. so i tried changing ISL now its back to the original behavior, only difference is now you can see green light flicker a little like its trying
customer brought in and said it needed a new keyboard, because it wouldn't turn on reliably which I did and tested it on and off fine 3 times before closing up. this was definitely in the top 3 of must disgusting keyboards, with all types of crap in there.
after he took it back it didn't turn...
used my crappy cheap ultrasonic (still need to buy a small crest) and it seems to be stable now. but lower ram slot doesn't work at all now, so weird because that was the one that was working before
had some liquid damage, cleaned and replaced trackpad cable
lower ram slot had one spec of corrosion and now seems to work fine
I was considering replacing C7525-C7529, on computing HS
turns on and everything works but after being on for like 10 minutes and warming up it shorts out and restarts...
nothing on PPBUS with AC
tried another Q7085 still doing same thing
power getting to there but not going thru
pin 4 supposed to be lower than PPBUS right?
maybe try another ISL?
