Thank you ( also thank you to piernov who also dropped some useful information to me too ). I'll give that a run today and see how it goes.

2014 Mac Mini "Pin lock" - removal required (genuine ownership)

Have a Macmini 2014 model (with the beloved T6 security torx), comes up with a 6-digit pin lock with Apple logo. This unit is from an e-waste recycling centre that I normally do a lot of work for, so I'm assuming valid ownership. I've cloned the 64MBit chip that's on the top side of the PCB...

Need new BIOS image for 820-00165 (seems corrupted, machines runs fine with donor)

UPDATE: Original + ME fix worked. Didn't get to try the 2nd one, client machine, just happy it's working now (multiple other faults before this one).

Thank you Jadao. I've sent two access requests to download those files.

Need new BIOS image for 820-00165 (seems corrupted, machines runs fine with donor)

Normally the process I've used is as follows; 1) remove bios from board 2) copy bios to bin image using TL866CS reader (via windows or linux) 3) copy clean ME region file for the board to a new file 4) modify new file with sections of the old bios (ie, starting from the "ssn" string) 5) write...

Need new BIOS image for 820-00165 (seems corrupted, machines runs fine with donor)

Have I missed something here or is this perhaps a response to the wrong thread? In the past, I've just flashed a spare chip with the new/fixed image, soldered back on to the board and that was it (using the TL866CS).

Need new BIOS image for 820-00165 (seems corrupted, machines runs fine with donor)

Previously Duke has recommended that I just post the serial number of the machine and he can generate a suitable BIOS Image file; is this still applicable? BIOS image available at http://dxp.me/820-00165-3893-20190605.zip

If you like openboardview more than landrex testlink..

Latest beta versions are now in public release. A good number of improvements over the existing stable, including the following; * Butterfly view mode (can be turned off too) * Faster rendering, maintain 60fps easily without chewing your CPU to death * PDF search system greatly improved, with...

Looking for resistor value on 820-00850 (since I do not have a donor and no BV/Schem)

Not exactly an easy board to find around at the moment, being a 2018 model.

Looking for resistor value on 820-00850 (since I do not have a donor and no BV/Schem)

Also would be nice to know the uF value of the missing cap here with the red-dots on the pads.

Looking for resistor value on 820-00850 (since I do not have a donor and no BV/Schem)

Resistor here just below the USB-C connector assembly in green circle (currently rotated off one pad so I could try measure it). End cap of the resistor has "vanished", so unable to measure.

820-3437 no boot or USB activity, S0 state but fan does not spin up normally

UPDATE: Sadly, as anticipated, no change in behaviour with a new BIOS and flashed with the known-working image.

820-3437 no boot or USB activity, S0 state but fan does not spin up normally

Thanks, I'l give that one a try just, who knows. Unfortunately no history on any of the boards. Only quirk that they share is they're all came in "clean" (no liquid damage)

820-3437 no boot or USB activity, S0 state but fan does not spin up normally

Not the first time I've had this symptom on 820-3437 ( testing with 85W genuine MS2 ). To date I think I have 3 boards in the "unsolved" box all exhibiting this. Instead of the fan doing the on/off/on/off... on-and-run sequence, the behaviour instead is to run the fan continuously for the about...

MacBook Air 2015, 820 00165 A, no backlight following liquid damage

estelanim416 yes, in these macbook board files, "XW" prefix typically just means 'wire' / PCB track.

    820 3115, Don't turn on

Bad DC in board, or check over your entire 1-wire circuit.

    820-3115 bad smc?

Sometimes also you might not have driven out all the liquid from under the chips like the CPU/PCH . Make sure you put it through the distilled water flush + alcohol + low bake + cool off; a couple of times I've had boards not start up after being in USC that ended up being because I was...

820-3115 green light no boot no fan spin ppbus_g3h 4v

0R resistors are more useful than one would initially think. They can be used as an additional layer on a board (letting you jump over traces), they can be used to let you enable/disable behaviours or isolate sections during testing / debugging, and they can sometimes be used as...
