Have a Macmini 2014 model (with the beloved T6 security torx), comes up with a 6-digit pin lock with Apple logo.
This unit is from an e-waste recycling centre that I normally do a lot of work for, so I'm assuming valid ownership.
I've cloned the 64MBit chip that's on the top side of the PCB...
Normally the process I've used is as follows;
1) remove bios from board
2) copy bios to bin image using TL866CS reader (via windows or linux)
3) copy clean ME region file for the board to a new file
4) modify new file with sections of the old bios (ie, starting from the "ssn" string)
5) write...
Have I missed something here or is this perhaps a response to the wrong thread?
In the past, I've just flashed a spare chip with the new/fixed image, soldered back on to the board and that was it (using the TL866CS).
Previously Duke has recommended that I just post the serial number of the machine and he can generate a suitable BIOS Image file; is this still applicable?

Resistor here just below the USB-C connector assembly in green circle (currently rotated off one pad so I could try measure it).
End cap of the resistor has "vanished", so unable to measure.
Thanks, I'l give that one a try just, who knows.
Unfortunately no history on any of the boards. Only quirk that they share is they're all came in "clean" (no liquid damage)
Not the first time I've had this symptom on 820-3437 ( testing with 85W genuine MS2 ). To date I think I have 3 boards in the "unsolved" box all exhibiting this.
Instead of the fan doing the on/off/on/off... on-and-run sequence, the behaviour instead is to run the fan continuously for the about...
Sometimes also you might not have driven out all the liquid from under the chips like the CPU/PCH . Make sure you put it through the distilled water flush + alcohol + low bake + cool off; a couple of times I've had boards not start up after being in USC that ended up being because I was...
0R resistors are more useful than one would initially think. They can be used as an additional layer on a board (letting you jump over traces), they can be used to let you enable/disable behaviours or isolate sections during testing / debugging, and they can sometimes be used as...
