wow that was pretty sad, i didnt even realize that this was the board louis talked about in his video until after you said that. The joints on that chip looked terrible; I touched them up and it appears to be working fine. thanks for the help

I have an 820-3332 that sometimes has no picture. when theres no picture I have a 27ohm short to ground on ppvcore_gpu, what are the odds its something on that line other than the gpu being dead? this computer has never had liquid damage either.

im thinking this has got to be an smc issue. even if i short smc_lid to ground on the resistor before the smc the screen still fails to turn off. thinking i got screwed on these smcs. i got reballed ones just to make it easier on myself since i dont have anything to hold the chip as i reball but...

unfortunately i dont have access to that at all. i live in small town iowa so nothing for hours away. i replaced the smc with another and im gettting the exact same problem

the smc is confirmed as the correct one, ill try another one that i have and hope that does the trick

No idea what either of those acronyms mean so ill say no. Im pretty sure the smc was correct but they were bought from aliexpress. I also noticed that closing the lid wont put it to sleep either. This could very well be a bad smc. I can try another after work

says ppbus is 7.2v also says dcin is drawing 6.14 amps

all sensors reading except palm rest is blank and right fin stack is blank aswell. everything else is reading normal temps

yeah still says no issues found but fan still goes to max and it takes like 3 seconds before the volume will go up or down and show up on the screen

Yes smc was replaced, but according to the customer it was running fan on max before they brought it in. Asd said no issues found when i ran it last. Ill try again though just to be sure

1 last issue. computer now turns on keyboard and trackpad works, but the fan goes to max and its kinda sluggish. Im guessing sensor issue but i have no idea where to start. 2015 model so no way to run sensor check software Edit: when i hold down the d key for diagnositic. it says "no issues found".

r4902 was ripped off the board. i now have trackpad

i get all power rails everywhere im supposed to on the trackpad connector and the keyboard connector also both 4830 and u4820

okay scratch the battery issue resolved now

it cant be dead because the computer runs off of it, had it on for over 20 mins. also a new battery didnt make a difference.
