    Smashed GPU on 820-3332-a

Board is (and was) not working with that damage. It happened recently, possibly from a surge on 3v3_s5 or via audio circuit. That's not the GPU, it's the PCH. RIP your board unless you feel like replacing it and cleaning the BIOS.

Program or pair new TouchID power button, 2016/17 A1706/7?

Has there been any news/progress or solutions to pairing a new TouchID power button with a 2016/2017 A1706 or A1707 board? Have had three occasions now where it would be helpful to do. Any recommended methods for repairing a torn Cable? Traces are incredibly small and tightly packed; seems...

Question about Medusa2 and "no chip found", etc.

Yep, same issue. I can get it to work ~50% of the time...on working boards and/or boards that power on. If a board doesn't power on, it works 0% of the time. Pretty unfortunate, as one of the videos for the unit clearly shows it connecting to and working with a totally-shit parts board from...

Question about Medusa2 and "no chip found", etc.

Just picked up a Medusa 2, and I must say I'm a bit disappointed with the limited testing I've done. The first ~10 boards (parts boards, albeit, but all with SPI present and no damage or missing components or anything to that area of the board) or so that I tried to simply read the serial/BIOS...

What does it indicate when a USB-C model pulls 20V but 0 amps/watts?

That's the confusing part--no shorts and PPBUS is present, but board is still drawing no A/W. Was hoping someone may have seen this before. :(

What does it indicate when a USB-C model pulls 20V but 0 amps/watts?

Have seen two Touchbar boards in the past few weeks, each with the same symptoms: Zero damage to the board, 20v on USB-C input, but 0a and 0w being drawn. Have not seen this prior to these 2 units, but now both are showing this symptom. Have confirmed it's not a charger issue (other boards work...

    820-00239 Missing SMC_PM_G2_EN.

Bit of a newb question here, but what all is required by the SMC on this model to actually produce SMC_PM_G2_EN? I replaced U7800 and no dice, exact same behavior. Curious if I'm missing an input for SMC that should be present. These touchbar boards really throw me for a loop.

    820-00239 Missing SMC_PM_G2_EN.

Sure thing, thank you; I'll try that. I may even just replace U7800 since I'm having to pull it, and I have spares. Will try that and let you know--thank you!

    820-00239 Missing SMC_PM_G2_EN.

Sounds good, I'll do that. But quick question: Obviously I don't want to apply power with U7800 removed; how should I check if signal comes high with U7800 removed?

    820-00239 Missing SMC_PM_G2_EN.

I can't tell if battery is charging; how would I determine that with no board life? I have 0W/0A draw on all USB-C ports. If the SMC isn't at fault for the missing SMC_PM_G2_EN, what else should I be looking at? Could U7800 be pulling SMC_PM_G2_EN down, which is why it's missing? Would love to...

    820-00239 Missing SMC_PM_G2_EN.

Yes, definitely using a proper 87W charger for all testing. Any other ideas?

    820-00239 Missing SMC_PM_G2_EN.

Clean 00239, no liquid, with no power. Board has ppbus (13.2v) and 20v on USB-C power input (0W/0A draw), but not much else. SMC_PM_G2_EN is missing completely. Thought it might be the SMC since signal was missing completely, but replaced SMC and symptoms persist. Also replaced U7650 to be safe...

820-00923 One USB-C Connector only works "one way"

Working on a liquid-damaged 00923. Board had a spill to the right-hand-side, took out one CD3215 and the USB-C assembly on that side. Replaced the controller and USB-C assembly and the board/unit is working well, with the exception of one thing: one port on the LEFT side of unit (opposite of...

A1502 820-4924 no charge icon til logged in

This is a normal issue with Mojave and maybe even High Sierra. Don't worry about what the icon shows until logged into MacOS. It's very common.

Any source for 2018 MacBook Air I/O board?

Was able to find the part number--820-01124 (923-02823). Just in case it may help anyone else. Found them at "thebookyard.com", but they're out of stock currently. Found in stock at macrecycling.com.

Any source for 2018 MacBook Air I/O board?

I'm in need of a few of the small I/O boards for the new 2018 Air models. Can't find a part number (don't have any available to check), and can't find any on the typical venues. If anyone could even just provide the part number (820/821-XXXXX), that would be helpful as well! Very much...

Best way to keep 15" models from using separate video chip?

Why are you wanting to do this? 3332 boards are repairable, and 3662/3787 boards aren't typically GPU issues. Just curious why you would do it?

    820 00045, don't turn ON

Check for shorts across all rails. If no shorts, this one may not be good news. CPUs dropping like flies on these things.
