Hmm, OK. I only have the Chinese specials with no CPU so nothing for reference. Board not liquid damaged. U7501 was dead. Replaced, S5 rails now present. S5_PWRGD present. Nothing above S5. No power cycles / pulsing on any rails.

Amazon Kapton Tape "Kapten" Ruins A Board

To be honest I'm not even sure. It's not going to protect anything at all.

I doubt it was anything you did. This machine was dropped. Two things you don't want to work on are impact damage boards and RAM failure boards... But an impact resultant RAM failure? Fuck that. RAM issues can be RAM, CPU or traces / pads. None of these things are issues you want to try and repair.

Can anyone link me to or sell me a U4801 for a 3662(2014) 15" MB?

What's wrong with buying donor boards? https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale...hText=820-3662 Anyway, I have a few if you're in the UK. I imagine that the 820-3332 U5701 has the same firmware. I could be wrong but I would have a bet on it.

Data recovery for new models 2016+

There are AASPs on this thread, they own this device and report they don't use it or have used it once. I started this thread over a year ago now. You need to ask why?

    820-00165 KPs on internal SSD

Yes tried that first. Inspected relevant areas of the board. I gave it back, not worth the time.

Resistance to ground on this rail is 7 Ohms. Way too low?

Amazon Kapton Tape "Kapten" Ruins A Board

I bought what was advertsed as Kapton tape from Amazon. Covered VRAM on a 2915 and stuck it on the BGA station for a new GPU. This Kapton tape melted all over the VRAM, pulled the chips together, generally killed my fun for the next couple of hours. I should have looked at the tag labeled...

Board was liquid damaged, only corrosion to Q7010 but only to PPDCIN pin. PBUS 8.64V 3V42 = 3.42 3V3 / 5V_S5 = 3V3 / 5V When the baord is cold; S5_PWRGD = present SMC_ADAPTER_EN = present PM_SLP_S5 = not preset So fuck all above S5 When the baord is warm it powers fine. I tried a donor...

    Another Bricked A1534 SSD

So in theory we could use a programmer via ICSP or "chip-off" to re-flash the firmware....?

    Where to find ASD?

I think that sharing such information is very wrong. I strongly advise you never to Google for: tparser.org and certainly never to search for "Apple Service Diagnostics" there because you might end up with (52.19GB of) something you should not have!

    Umm, WTF?!

Yes, I see the same thing... But this particular issue has fuck all to do with APFS HFS+ FAT32 or even an uninitialized drive. It will only see certain drives regardless of the formatting. However, it will see anything you put in there when using the DVD bay / caddy, so that was the answer...

    820-3662 random no image

This machine does almost the same as the 3332 U8900 boards accept the backlight stays on, and the fans ramp up. Works again on every restart. No liquid.

    Umm, WTF?!

That's more of an auto pilot these days. SMC, PRAM, Verbose. Every time. Can't be arsed to get this board out again. Stuck a DVD / HDD caddy on there it works perfectly so it's mine.

    Anybody seen this magic machine??

It's quite obviously a joke. No one would be stupid enough to buy this device let alone design and build it. This thing was made in lala land with monopoly money.

"Amac is the first in Europe to work with this high-tech machine" AMAZEBALLS!! Is this actually real? I mean, it's a joke right?
