try with the top slot only, usually the slot closer to the keyboard is the culprit. the correct memory for this logic board is PC3-10600S.

If you see p or n then its a fuse. Use 3 amp fuse.

i know the 27" 2012 uses 3A 120 ohms ferrite bead instead of a fuse. The 21" imac uses 3A fuse which is same as the MacBook Pro. if the package looks like a fuse then replace with a fuse then otherwise a ferrite bead.

you might get to see an external display if you disconnect the internal display cable first. check if you get any voltage on L8300 for a few seconds when it boots up. it should have least 5v even if you don't have a screen connected,
