I did start from 1v. but with 2.4v - 4v its drawing 1.7v @ 5.76amp and nothing get warm.
gonna put this board back to the bottom of the pile. i'll get 10AMP power supply someday.
customer plugged usb hub and apparently has killed the board.
i found out PP5v_s0 is shorted, i then removed Q8060, U4600 and can confirmed PP5V_S0 is definitely shorted.
i then injected 5v to PP5v_s0 but nothing gets warm. also my psu has limited 5v on PP5v_s0 to 1.7v :(
i think it might...
lol thank you, this ain't my 1st time.
it's actually easy than it sounds. just reball and finding a working U3900 from a donor takes a lot of time. 3 out of 4 U3900 from donor boards were bad, i'll get a stencil for next time.
just tried another keyboard, the cap lock light still didn't work...
forgot to mention, isight doesn't work. I've already tried aknown working display.
J4002 , pin12 has 5v,
PP1V8_CAM has 1.8v
PP1V35_CAM has 1.3v
pp1v2_cam has 0v
pp1v2_cam is shorted to gnd. i'am checking what is shorted. could be bad u3900.
i'll need to remove L3901 to see where is the short.
USB port next to Card reader is working fine, but the USB on the LIO I/O is not working.
i've already tried another flex cable and LIO I/O board.
USB mouse, USB flash drive doesn't work.
J9500 is very clean under the microscope
when i plug a usb device, osx will say "device is using too much...
i know the 27" 2012 uses 3A 120 ohms ferrite bead instead of a fuse. The 21" imac uses 3A fuse which is same as the MacBook Pro. if the package looks like a fuse then replace with a fuse then otherwise a ferrite bead.
ok. i can confirm a 60w original MagSafe2 is fine, the green light always stays on. any idea how to fix an 85w original MagSafe 2 issue?
I've already replaced every component on the Q7010 area,
you might get to see an external display if you disconnect the internal display cable first.
check if you get any voltage on L8300 for a few seconds when it boots up. it should have least 5v even if you don't have a screen connected,
did that already, i'am now testing with a 60w magsafe2 original, so far so good. need more testing,
if 60w is ok, then where is on the logic board i need to look?
what do you mean by onboard, with power?
i thought you are not supposed to measure a resistor with the power on.
my resistance measurements are done with the components are soldered on the board.

D7010:
original 85w charger plugged-in with...
R7012 = 67.9k ohm
D7010 and Q7010 are present. i don't see anything wrong with them.
starts up fine, I've never used SMC bypass mode on this board.
with a 100% charged battery and charger connected, when the MagSafe's light is green
CHGR_AMON = 0.092v
CHGR_BMON = 0.054v
