Well, you have a problem there. Battery does not like 16v.... Neither does the rest of the stuff on PPBUS_G3H. Replace U7000 and Q7030 / Q7035 all at the same time.
I second bad SMC..... Rarely the ISL can cause the PPBUS being 12.26 issue so it's worth a shot to throw one on. If a new ISL doesn't work, replace the SMC
Heat from where and from what? Does it boot? This sounds like a candidate for ASD.. If you don't have ASD try and run AHT by holding down D and see if it pulls any sensor errors
This could be many things... Could be a random corroded resistor somewhere, could be spi resistors or traces, could be SMC, could even be the CPU but let's not go there yet --
Please measure the following --
PM_PCH_PWROK -
PPVCC_S0_CPU Both voltage and Resistance to gnd
PLT_RESET_L
What...
I don't know.. Intermittent faults like this are never fun. Maybe corrosion under the SMC.. Look under it with the scope.. If it looks like something got under it give it a reflow.
So if the display shuts off, the lid sensor is working so we don't have to look there. My guess is something wrong with U5110 or the SMC. Maybe even a leaking cap on SMC_ONOFF_L somewhere. Did this have liquid? If so, where.
Could be something wrong in the boost/sense circuit, but now sense you lost green light did you loose 3.42? While the green light is not working, what is resistance to gnd compared to when the green light is working. Basically what I mean is catch the system when the light isn't on, unplug it...
Something is obviously pulling down PP3v42... Look at U7001. Do you have ACOK on pins 1 and 2 and do you have ACOK VCC on pin 4? See if something is messed up there. Maybe U7001 is pulling down 3v42 and causing your no green light issue. Don't know how that would be related to your battery issue...
