    820-00165 - Won't stay off.

If I let it boot then close the lid, the fan never stops. So it seems to never go to sleep, but the display does switch off Edit: It did sleep. Just took over 5 minutes.

    820-00165 - Won't stay off.

If I turn it off in software, it turns back on again two or three seconds later. Hold the power button down for 10 seconds and it stays off. Sometimes (but seldom) it won't turn on. SMC_ONOFF_L seems to stay steady during all of this at 3.4v

    820-00165 - No power.

PM_G2_EN is present at 3.4 Resistance to ground on C1001::1 is 0Ohms. Edit: I compare C1001 on a working board and it is 8Ohms.

    Q7130::8 gives me 0.64v On a working board I get about 1.7 to 1.9

Don't have a thermal camera, but can't detect any heat around U7501. It's 35c here at the moment so hard to detect something warm. R1300 is 3.3v R1303 is 3.3v PM_SLP_S4_L missing is a symptom of another issue right?

    820-00923 - Does't see SSD

R9340 gives me 2.7, J9600 is in place snuggly. The machine was actually working just fine but showed no SSD when customer came to collect, which was the original issue. Every time it boots I get told to select a wifi network so it can install a critical update, but it always fails. Only way to...

PM_SLP_S5 is missing too because I seem to be missing S4_PWD_EN.

Green/orange light works as expected/ PP3v3_s5 = 3.3V PP3v3_s4 = 100mV. C7518 had some stuff around it, so I cleaned it off and replaced it. The board is remarkably clean.

    820-00923 - Does't see SSD

Usually I would agree, except the customer already took it to Apple and said it had liquid damage.

    820-00923 - Does't see SSD

I charged the battery to 100% and still no SSD. Guess we're off for a board repair now.

    820-00923 - Does't see SSD

Yeh, the SSD is there sometimes and not there other times. Sometimes I can see it in the boot menu, other times not and sometimes it's in Disk Utils and sometimes not. :/ Charging up the battery to see if that changes anything.

    820-00923 - Does't see SSD

Thanks Louis. I'll go test that in a little bit. This would unfortunately destroy my magic touch theory, as it was on charge while I was working on it.

Sees the SSD now. Not sure what I changed. Must have a magic touch today. Thanks.

    820-00923 - Does't see SSD

Never even seen one of these before. No idea where to start. Customer said liquid damage but I can't see any evidence. Where do I start with this one?

    820-4924 - Power cycling SLP_S5 & Clock

Yeh, that's why I threw it in the parts bin originally. But figured I may as well practice SMC replacements on it since I have a bunch of boards the same and it's the one of the only repairs I've never done.

    [SOLVED]MBP retina 2015 13’' 820-4924 won’t sleep

The magnetic sensor is right next door at J5250. Have you measured SMC_LID with the lid up and down?

    820-4924 - Power cycling SLP_S5 & Clock

Actually, which stencil would I use for the SMC on this board? I blew the SMC when I mixed up PPBus_G3H and PP3v3, might as well learn how to replace the SMC on this once since I have several donors.

This ones to the junk pile. I just smoked the board by misreading the schematic. :(

L7095::2 in diode mode gives me 0.095. I think that might be a little low.
