Never even seen one of these before. No idea where to start.

Customer said liquid damage but I can't see any evidence.

Where do I start with this one?

I don't have the diagram for this in front of me. If it has PICCOLO there is an issue where when PICCOLO goes bad it will not see the SSD below a certain battery percentage, typically 30%. Try again when you drain the battery. If you bring it down to 5-10%, can you reboot the machine and boot into the OS on the SSD?

Thanks Louis.

I'll go test that in a little bit. This would unfortunately destroy my magic touch theory, as it was on charge while I was working on it.

Yeh, the SSD is there sometimes and not there other times.

Sometimes I can see it in the boot menu, other times not and sometimes it's in Disk Utils and sometimes not. :/

Charging up the battery to see if that changes anything.

I charged the battery to 100% and still no SSD.

Guess we're off for a board repair now.

Usually I would agree, except the customer already took it to Apple and said it had liquid damage.

R9340 gives me 2.7, J9600 is in place snuggly.

The machine was actually working just fine but showed no SSD when customer came to collect, which was the original issue.

Every time it boots I get told to select a wifi network so it can install a critical update, but it always fails.
Only way to boot is in safe mode.

Any suggestions?
