Nothing on screen or HDMI through usb-c, trackpad is clickable
Cpu gets hot but coils L7410/20/30 are all at 0v all other coils are measuring what they should be
Board has minor signs of liquid arround Q8400 area but no corrosion anywhere to be seen
I just did that and still remains the same still flashing. Tried different formats. Already formatted the SSD, deleted volume, created a new partition. Ran out of ideas on what to do. The only way that this MacBook is usable is to use a bootable USB drive. Tried Internet recovery and same problem.
Unfortunately, I already looked at APFS to see if it's the issue and yes I tried HFS+ journaled and still flashing folder although I could boot into Sierra HFS+ via USB but not Mojave APFS via USB.
J3700 looks good.
U3740
pin 1 = 3.42v
pin 2 = 1v
pin 3 = 3.3v
pin 4 = 3.42v
pin 6 = 3.24v
pin 7 = 0
pin 8 = 0
Forgot to mention that it does detect the SSD via MacOS but does not detect the OS installed just flashing folder. What's even weirder is that the board number is 820-3437-B but the...
Have an 820-3437-B here that does not want to boot into MacOS (Flashing folder). So I tried booting into Mojave through USB and still flashes as well but boots into Sierra via USB but the thing is, it also does not want to boot into Sierra via SSD directly (flashing folder). Was liquid damaged...
Tested with new trackpad, same resuilts. CPU very hot and shutsdown when loading macos.
If i let the machine boot without trackpad then plug trackpad in i get cursor movement but no click and KB and cpu doesnt get abnormally hot
Tried with new battery same results, the Cpu seems to be getting really hot (too hot to keep my finger on) even when just showing the flashing folder
Reseated heatsink with new thermal paste same results
Just heard of the medusa all I have is a TL866
edit: the cpu only gets hot when the...
Machine cam in no boot with bloated battery, one of the PPVIN_S5_HS_COMPUTING_ISNS capacitors was shorted took it off.
Machine now boots but when loading macos about 1/8th of the bar is just restarts
Also are there any brd available for this? Board looks clean no liquid damage
do you think it's worth replacing the SMC at this point? as that's the only thing that I haven't done to this point
Edit: Replaced SMC and still the same. Guess it's just a short in one of the rails. Thank you for trying anyways.
client said that it was turning off randomly - "used to happen very rarely then started happening more and more often" then that's when i tried to re-install the OS and crashed mid-way and never started after that. No liquid damage. She said that she used to carry it in her rucksack all of the...
measures 1.81v when the fan is spinning then goes off to 0v and fan stops and stays there
fan stays on for like half a second but reading 1.8v goes off almost immediately after the fan starts
just enough to feel it, if i put a drop of alcohol on it. An area dries up first then if i turn off power that area gets flooded again.
Will try measuring is there any order i should follow?
Forgot to mention. Original U6100 has been put back.
U1950 pin 8 reads 5v
U6100 termination resistors checked all good
No liquid damage or at least no signs of any. (no corrosion)
vcore reads 1.8v then goes back to 0
No liquid damage or impact damage "just stopped working"
Haven't worked much on these new boards, please tell me what to measure as I have no idea where to start. U7800 is getting warm everything around it looks ok
PPBUS_G3H = 8.7v
3v3_S5 = 3.325v
5V_s4 = 0v
Have a macbook air 11" 2015 that was working, was in a middle of installing sierra and suddenly turned off (it was plugged in). Now does not want to turn on (quarter fan spin orange then green then orange light). Tried disconnecting battery and still the same. Reflowed SMC - same. Replaced R7121...
