    I left it running without a battery and eventually it also slowed down, checked ACOK measured ok.

    Only the original battery that the machine came with, will try with a known good 13" battery

    just remembered that there's a sensor in the trackpad so replaced kb connector now power button works and high fan has gone away but left shift ctrl and alt still not working

    Liquid damaged power button doesnt work but boots on charger, main issue is fan runs high all the time. Also the left shift ctrl and alt dont work, but i'll look at that later. Im guessing that this is a temp sensor failing, but no efi for these machines is there any other way to view the...

    tried relow on the smc twice still the same, this is weird. Once it goes slow even if i plug the charger back in it still stays slow

    Is SMC reflow worth a try? Will try that bios can I use a chip from a 2850?

    Thanks for confirming, No signs of any corrosion in those areas or anywhere on the board.

    I dont know if its relevant but EFI ASD takes 5mins on "Search for hardware to run tests"
