Macbook Air A2681- 820-02536 stuck at 5v after liquid damage

Diode mode of VDDP = 0.091 - seems a bit low to me but it's not shorted to ground totally Diode mode of VDDA = 0.088 - also seems a bit low R5275 and R5276 testing good. Done a bit more digging and I think the problem looks to be on VDDA given that resistance at pin 1 of R5275 151Ohms to ground...

Macbook Air A2681- 820-02536 stuck at 5v after liquid damage

    Getting 0.87V on AUX_DET Voltage on Pin 1 of R5215 is 5.19V

Macbook Air A2681- 820-02536 stuck at 5v after liquid damage

    replaced R5215 which has given me 0.87v on AUX_DET now. CHGR_AUX_DET_SHORT_3V3 is 0V Voltage at C5252 still 0v CHGR_RST_IN = 0v CHGR_VDDA = 0.144v CHGR_VDDP = 0.100v CHGR_EN_MVR = 0.001V AUX_OK = 0v (still cant get the probes on it very easily so unsure) CHGR_AMON = 0.001v CHGR_BMON = 0.001v...

Macbook Air A2681- 820-02536 stuck at 5v after liquid damage

Presuming you mean c5252 - theres no voltage there with F5200 removed. Reading 0.1v Diode mode on PPBUS_AON is 0.515, resistance to ground 10MOHm

Macbook Air A2681- 820-02536 stuck at 5v after liquid damage

So got my first 820-02536 board in today for repair - customer says it just turned of by itself completely negating to tell me the full story of the liquid spilled onto it! Anyway originally when it came in I had 5V 0.3A power draw, after taking the board out I found heavy amounts of corrosion...

820-4924 CPU heating but no post/chime

CPU Core voltage is present 1.8v on Phase 1 and 2 PLT_RESET_L is also present at 3.3v I got the machine to post once when I heated up the clock chip U1900, but only once then it returned to the current status. I did try and replace U1900 from a donor board but it didn't change anything.

820-4924 CPU heating but no post/chime

Just had a very clean 820-4924 board in today, but it's not posting/chiming. The CPU is heating up when the charger is connected as is the SSD, no image on the screen and no USB activity however. SMC reset works normally (light changes on the charger) No visible signs of corrosion anywhere that...

820-01958-A No Power 5V and 0.10a current draw

Right so with Pin 20 isolated (made a small cut on the trace going to the test point) P3V3MAIN_PGOOD is present. Would this mean bad U7650?

820-01958-A No Power 5V and 0.10a current draw

No the other G3s voltages are still not present - PP5v_G3s is reading a tiny amount around 0.03V and its enable signal P5G3S_EN is still missing. I did try it once more with the charger and thermal camera and i'm seeing a tiny amount of heat from U4850 - we're talking board is 16C and this IC is...

820-01958-A No Power 5V and 0.10a current draw

1v8_G3s is still missing but no longer shorted. I also took U6400 off again just to confirm that wasn't affecting anything but it hasn't changed anything!

820-01958-A No Power 5V and 0.10a current draw

Well Audio Amp out U6400 - no change. Basically then went through the process of removing and reinstalling every other part on PP1V8_G3S until I got to the Wifi IC, After removing this the low ohms reading on PP1V8_G3s is gone and it's now reading 3Kohm. Unfortunately this hasn't changed the...

820-01958-A No Power 5V and 0.10a current draw

Think I might be getting somewhere with this one, comparing with another board I found PP1V8_G3S is showing a 40ohm resistance to ground so not fully shorted but certainly abnormal. The problem is however even if I inject the full 1.8v into PP1V8_G3S I get no current draw and nothing visibly...

820-01958-A No Power 5V and 0.10a current draw

Just got an 820-01958-A in symptoms are stuck at 5V on USB-C Meter, no signs of life and 0.10a current draw. Visual inspection reveals: Damaged flex cable between audio board and main board No visible corrosion or water damage present. Device is not visible when connected to another mac with...

    A1707 20V 0A, 820-00281 not powering on

PM_PWRBTN_L is not doing anything at all when triggering SMC_ONOFF_L - stays at 0v and doesn't pulse up or anything. SMC_ONOFF_L is 3.3V and drops to 0v when the power button is pressed. Tried SMC Bypass mode all that happens there is that the charger sticks on 5V and still the machine does...

    A1707 20V 0A, 820-00281 not powering on

There are no S5 voltages and as such 0v on PM_PWRBTN_L, I haven't checked if there is voltage on SMC_ONOFF_L but I can do.

    A1707 20V 0A, 820-00281 not powering on

Got an A1707 820-00281, symptoms it takes 20v but doesnt draw any current. PPBUS_G3H, PP3V3_G3H are all present at 12.58v and 3.3v No S5 or SUS voltages are present and there are no shorts which I can find. PP3V3_PMICLDO = 3.3V PP1V25_PMICVREF = 1.24V PP3V0_G3H = 3V PM_SLP_S5_L is low 0.2v To...

    820-00875 A1908 Not Powering up

L7210 - 0.930V L7220 - 0.930V L7370 - 1.044V All three are stable No voltage on L7410, L7420 or L7430 Should've said before that I did try external monitor and there is no output there either.

    820-00875 A1908 Not Powering up

So got an A1708 in today doesn't appear to turn on, When the charger is connected it does go up to 20v and also appears to charge the battery - the trackpad clicks but nothing on the screen. No fan spin but the CPU does appear to be getting warm. Caps lock doesn't light up when pressed, PRAM...

a1708 820-00840 doesn't detect SSD with replacement battery

Yes behaviour is the same with and without the charger connected. Battery as fitted has around 75% charge so is nowhere near a low level! I found a workaround where if I start the machine up with the charger only connected and then connect the battery up it continues to work and behave normally.
