    MacBook M1 Pro 14" 2021 A2442 (820-02098) — U2020 getting hot, board not powering on

I can't discard U2010 firmware issue. You had one audio amplifier damaged; that is connected to CPU.

    MacBook Pro (820-02773 - A2338 M2)

You may need another M1 (or newer) MacBook for DFU Blaster. Try external switch method instead: https://logi.wiki/index.php/DFU_Mode_Restore_(Macs)#DFU_Mode_using_external_switch

    820-01598 Stuck at 5V 300-400mA current draw

Injecting 4V will cause 200mA aprox; not enough to heat anything on the board. A good thermal camera may point you to some small thermal signatures. You may need to wait some time; remove CPU heatsink first.

    MacBook Pro (820-02773 - A2338 M2)

First of all, welcome to the forum! The special keys used by DFU are controlled by hardware (UT103) to generate RSLOC_RST_L signal. If you can't access recovery menu, or boot menu, then keyboard doesn't really work. Just in case, check if you have more luck with DFU Blaster.
