820-01521 - MacBook Air Not Switching To 20v

Hello, I have a MacBook Air here stuck at 5v at the charger 0.04 amps. I am not getting PPDCIN_G3H at the source of Q3100. UPC_XA_GATE2 shows 5v, but UPC_XA_GATE1 is 0v. PP3V3_G3H_RTC = 0 v Is it just bad CD3215's or could it be something else thats causing PPDCIN to be gated?

820-00875 - Type C Charging, But No USB Function

Oops, yes. Water damage through the type C ports. It damaged the CD3215's which I replaced afterwards - charging fine. There was also a short on the primary type C port. I had to cut it off physically to fix it because it was pretty bad. I am waiting on a new type C replacement part to arrive...

820-00875 - Type C Charging, But No USB Function

Hello, I have a MacBook Pro with CD3215 properly switching to 20v. However, I am unable to use any kind of USB device such as mouse or USB drive using Type C to USB adaptor (tested working on other machine). I replaced both CD3215's already and same issue.

820-3462 - MacBook Pro Keyboard / Trackpad Not Functioning

Okay, so I did more tests and then found that WS_KBDx signals + pin 2 / 9 of the TP connector (Z2_CLKIN & Z2_SCLK) were fluctuating regardless of whether or not TP is connected. I was convinced that maybe something was in the TP connector (because why all of a sudden is it acting like this after...

820-3462 - MacBook Pro Keyboard / Trackpad Not Functioning

The power rails for the keyboard is steady. Here's something odd I found. When I disconnect the trackpad flex cable, the WS_KBDx signals are steady and the keyboard is very responsive. As soon as I reconnect the trackpad + flex cable, it jumps up and down. When I leave the trackpad flex...

820-3462 - MacBook Pro Keyboard / Trackpad Not Functioning

Okay, so I replaced U5701 (twice) and exact same result. WS_KBD fluctuating but it seems to be better? 1.5 - 3 volts Maybe a coincidence. I then replaced U2700 and still not working. Z2_SCLK / Z2_CLKIN fluctuating 0.5 -1.5 volts. Seems like there is only so many places to look, but I can't...

820-3462 - MacBook Pro Keyboard / Trackpad Not Functioning

Okay, I will replace U5701. Must I get it from the same board number? Are there any other boards I can take it off of? I noticed 820-3115 and 820-2936 have same CY8C24794 337S2983 MLF SYM_VER2 Does this mean they have similar firmware?

820-3462 - MacBook Pro Keyboard / Trackpad Not Functioning

Hello, I have a MacBook Pro with non-functioning trackpad and keyboard. Tested new keyboard / trackpad and still not working. The keyboard (new and old) will only work if I hold the key a little bit. I checked WS_KBD and all of them are fluctuating a lot between 0.5 to 3 volts. Never...

    820-00875 - Backlight Issue

I compared screen assembly readings and here are my findings. I noticed pin 33 varies a lot on the bad assembly - MIPI_DATA_CONN_P, but other than that everything else seem to check out. I don't think this pin has anything to do with backlight, so it might just be done for.

    820-00875 - Backlight Issue

Luckily I had another display to test, it definitely is the LCD assembly. However, I am unsure if the customer will be willing to bring to Apple for the backlight service program. He took it there initially and now it is obvious that it was worked on. Anyone have any success in repairing the...
