nothing, the device looks like new, no water no nothing, the board does not turn off even if you twist it, as long as it has already turned on. no idea where to start, i guess it can be a faulty EFI.
I'm out of ideas, this laptop works perfectly fine, as long as you're lucky and it turns on, otherwise you're looking at trying to turn it on time after time and fans spinning for a few seconds and then they turn off.
after a few tries it turns on and stays on and everything's perfect.
Any idea...
Yes that what we did in the end, removed the rubber junk(what purpose does it even serve?) and heated the chip up to 210 degrees using a BGA machine, it's working fine now let's see what happens.
Some chinese guy is selling the balled chip on ebay, i bought two let's see if they are worth it...
Hi everyone,
The iMac had a problem with the display panel's backlight, after a few minutes of usage the display went black.
After an inverter board and the display panel were replaced the problem persists. Any ideas?
My bad, the board number is 820-2530. Wrote 820-2850 by mistake.
I used 6258.
The resistance between pins 17/18 and 27/28 of U7000 is the same - 20.7 ohm. Voltage on pin 2 is 16.5V
Tried with a good known battery, with/with out battery indicator connected shows the same error.
Also, PPBUS_G3H seems to me at fault --- PPBUS_G3H=9.9V with battery and charger connected. PPBUS_G3H=8.8V with only charger connected
