Okay I injected voltage on Pin of F7700 and got up to around 6v and there was no current so I put a little alcohol in that area and immediately Q7706 started sizzling and 0.83 Amps appeared. I measured Pins 1/2/5/6 of Q7706 and they were both 0v to ground in diode mode. I removed Q7706 and the...
Sorry I didn't notice it connected to pin 13.
But Pin 1 was gone from the pad so I have Pin 1 soldered to Probe 768 and Pin 2 is on its original pad.
I have continuity from Probe 768 all the way to Pin 15 of U7400.
Those measurements were with the new lvds cable plugged in and without any power source plugged in.
I just put another fuse on and plugged in a known working bare lcd. I can manuever the backlight strip so I can plug it into the bare lcd but I decided to see if the fuse would blow with just the...
Okay I believe I was getting around 1.5kohms of resistance to ground on backlight pins. I replaced the connector, used another lvds cable and put another fuse on and it blew again. I replaced the lp8550 then put a new fuse on and that blew as well. It looked like the backlight was turning on for...
This board had liquid damage around the LCD area and the connector/cable were burned. I replaced all the components around the LCD connector, the connector and the LVDS cable. When I plugged in the new lvds cable I got 0v on backlight at the connector. I had 3.32v on BKL_PWM and 0v on BKL_EN at...
Also I made a mistake in the previous post. Pin 1 was actually the one that had the pad gone and I had to solder to Prboe 768.
There is continuity from Pin 13 of U7400 to Pin 2 of C7425.
There is also continuity from Pin 2 of C7425 to Pin 4 of Q7430.
Do you know why Pin 2 of C7425 leads to the...
This board had liquid damage only in one spot that I could find. C7425 was the only component I could fine where there was any liquid damage. I removed that cap and I saw that the pad on Pin 2 was completely gone so I had to put the cap on pin 1 and put some solder onto the probe point next to...
This macbook had a bad keyboard but was booting and working fine. I removed the SSD to plug it into an OWC Envoy enclousure to make sure the data was fine and after I was done I simply unplugged the usb to the envoy instead of safely ejecting so I'm not sure if that caused this problem but now...
wow I don't know how this happened but C8320/21 were missing from the board. I put them on from a donor board and put a new LP8550 on and now everything is working fine.
Thanks a lot duke.
No question mark folder ever appeared and I already tried replacing the connector on the board but still the same thing happens.
I tried again and waited over a minute and no question mark folder appeared. The cpu gets warm and I get a chime.
Okay I managed to get a known working display assembly to test with and the same thing happened. I can see a slight change in the darkness of the screen but no backlight comes on and I dont see an image when I put a flashlight on the apple logo.
Could this be an issue with the LED Driver...
This board was sent to me as no backlight after liquid damage. For some reason I didn't even check to make sure there was an image before replacing everything. I replaced that entire area around the lcd connector and the connector as well as the lp8550 and the LVDS cable.
I am getting 0v on...
I got this machine that had liquid damage and isn't turning on anymore. I have a spare 820-00045 board that I can take parts from if need be.
I searched the serial number of the macbook and it shows that is also an A1534(EMC 2746)
Serial #: C02QK7XYGF84
For some reason though it doesn't have...
I was looking around and I noticed L8304 was accidentally bridged to the ground pin of C8315. I don't know how L8304 being connected to ground could cause the s0 rails to shut off.

This board initially was just a no backlight issue and there was liquid damage around the entire lcd connector area as well as the lp8550. I replaced all the components in those areas and after all this now the fan does the usual on and off fan spin 3 times but after about 1 second the fan stops...
Update: I went to the U7400 Chip to troubleshoot and I noticed the IMVP_TON resistor was corroded on one side so I replaced it and now this machine is working perfectly fine and vcore is back.
This can be marked solved.
