MacBook Air 820 3437, just stopped working, fan spin, seems to be switching on, but.

No, when connecting power, the fan starts to spin and keeps spinning. I know from experience, it does the on off thing before staying on. USB activity? I will see what I can find from the ports etc... Thanks

MacBook Air 820 3437, just stopped working, fan spin, seems to be switching on, but.

No battery connected, connect power to the board in computer, no happy tone nothing on screen, get green then red light so seems to be charging. Fan spin all ok, but nothing on screen. Hold down power button and fan stops spinning as though it is switched on like usual and just switched off...

MacBook Air liquid damage, running slow and fan at full speed 820 3437

Tested its ssd in another device and all was running fine. How do you try a new bios and clean ME, what is ME? Are they any kinds of resets? Or anything to do with preferences?

MacBook Air liquid damage, running slow and fan at full speed 820 3437

Tested the logic board in a known to be working case and still the same. Fan goes really fast when loading into the os. Looking at the activity monitor, the kernel tasks are running at 204%, is this the reason for the fan speed?

MacBook Air liquid damage, running slow and fan at full speed 820 3437

I read that and the board was out the case with nothing connected. I connected just power and got fan spin then it got a lot faster just like it does. With that happening, doesn't that say it isn't anything to do with mouse and keyboard seen as they aren't even connected?

MacBook Air liquid damage, running slow and fan at full speed 820 3437

Hi, Liquid damage on MacBook Air 820 3437. switches on, all works, but running slow and fan spins up to full speed when switching on. Nothing much to note in terms of damage on the board. Owner says another place looked at it and said it needed new U5620. The part itself looks OK and diode mode...

820 3437 not switch on, but charging battery

I didn't know of any risk on the processor. Why start with anything lower than the actual voltage for the voltage line. Found the problems anyway. Replaced all components mentioned and the battery, switching on like usual now.

820 3437 not switch on, but charging battery

MacBook Air 820 3437 board, charges as it shows green light then red light, no fan spin. Found short on pin 2 of F7140 and the component itself is burnt out anyway. Removed F7140, short still there removed q5500, short still there. Injected 8.5v into the line, and something is pulling more than...

    820 3115 screen flicker

Tilting and twisting the screen has no effect on it, just the tapping on the casing by the escape key. Moving the lcd cable around doesn't cause the problem either.

    820 3115 screen flicker

13 inch macbook pro 820 3115 just had a new hard drive and all good. Been brought back in with screen flicker. It has been worked out that then tapping the top left of the housing by the esc key the screen flickers and the computer stops responding. Restarting it fixes the issue. Tilting the...

820-00165 - computer dropped and will not switch on G3H voltage low

Hi, after checking that with a known good battery the SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SCL/SDA voltages are unstable between 0.9v and 3.4v, the battery sense line is the same type of voltage as well. I will replace u7100 again, and if no change then will replace smc Thanks

Board back in the computer, it switches on with an X in the battery symbol. Effectively it can't see the battery.

820-00165 - computer dropped and will not switch on G3H voltage low

OK so looking at my own MacBook Air, pin 4 is less than 1v therefore I am thinking the voltage changes depending on whether the computer should use the battery or not, so where to find what tells that voltage to change...

820-00165 - computer dropped and will not switch on G3H voltage low

Well I am thinking it is something to do with pin 4 on Q7155 due to where it comes from which is u7100. I am thinking it is not being told to charge the battery.

820-00165 - computer dropped and will not switch on G3H voltage low

OK so the problem is still there even with all voltages back. Tried another battery no change. One thing I have noticed: Q7155 pin 1,2 3 are at 8.2v, pin 4 is 8.18 Pin 5 is 0.24 I am thinking pin 5 should be be the same as pin 1,2,3 and 4 so the battery can charge?
