Oh no spoken to soon. Reassembled everything back and not working again. Checked the connector under microscope and the plastic looks a bit too melted. Will replace again :S
Well well well. I gave it another ultrasonic wash to clean off the sitcky icky icky flux from the connector after the replacement and everything started working again.
Thanks for your help anyway!
Hi there!
This board had water damage. Not too bad. Mostly around LCD connector area. Gave it an ultrasonic bath and replaced LCD connector and backlight IC because some pads were corroded.
It is switching on and working fine on the external monitor but has no image on LCD.
Checked LCD...
Replaced a screen on macbook air 11 inch 2012. Unfortunately had an accident with fan screw holder on the motherboard. (Very lame of me, I know!). Now macbook doesnt start from battery or hold charge. Starts with adapter plugged in. Shows battery percentage. Battery percentage goes up. As soon...
So I gave it an ultrasonic bath and power button is back on, which is a victory already.
However, the shift/control/option is still not working. pin 4 is 3.42V. pins 1,2,3 are 0V even when pressing the keys.
Hello there,
I have a machine with refurbished board in for repair with some weird red shit on it (see picture). Everything works except for pwr, shift, ctr, opt keys.
I get 0V on 1, 2, 3 pins of keyboard connector (J4813).
U4850 is also 0.
U4801 VDD is high. Should I replace it?
THanks!
Yeah but for a customer its a really expensive solution :D I was just wondering if there would be an alternative solution. I removed the display bezel and looked at io board and replaced lcd cable but still same problem. So I guess new screen is the only solution then.
THanks.
This is a strange one.
Wine on the keyboard (classic).
No corrosion on the motherboard.
Replaced keyboard.
Screen has no image, no backlight.
Image flashes for a milisecond on chime and goes away.
Tested with new screen. Good image. Tested old screen on another macbook -> Good image.
No voltage...
