Yes, PM_SLP_S3_L has 3.3V. Laptop starts, fan spin. Q5300 needs to be taken care of.
How did you find out that something related to PM_SLP_S3_R_L could be bad?
Sorry, wrong information. Just got the board in front. It actually doesn't show picture when starting, but it does when lid is closed and opened a couple of times, while Thunderbolt is connected.
I?m not sure what customer uses. I do have 85W.
I only have board and display for this one. I guess SMC_LID won?t work without housing or I could use a magnet somewhere?
This board has problems when external Display is hooked up to Thunderbolt port. Internal and external displays stay black until you close and open the lid a few times. Then they both work properly.
Okay, so I've removed and replaced U7100 and U7600 and PP5V_S0 is back to normal 0.360.
I'm drawing 44mA from DCPS. PP5V_S0 not present though.
I have lower resistance in Ohms on CPU compared to known good (10 vs 17 Ohms).
PM_SLP_S3_L - 2.26V
PM_SLP_S3_L - 0.038
Replaced U7200 and Q7221. PP5V_S3 is present now. I seem to have S3 rails now, but not S0.
PP5V_S0 - 0.033 resistance
Am I safe if I inject more than 1V into the line since it feeds some 1V lines?
"Why would you want to have voltage on an active low enable signal?"
It was present on pin 2 Q7221 P5VS3_EN_L, but only because it's connected to PP3V42, right?
Yes, I have 0V now.
When Q7221 was removed, I didn't have any voltage on pin 5 P3V3S5_EN_L.
Q7221 is back now. Laptop doesn't start with battery and charger plugged in. Battery voltage without charger is 11.5V.
When I use it on DCPS with original charger head, laptop draws 20mA.
I don't understand. I measured diode mode 20 seconds after power was removed and DMM shows 0.110V.
There is no voltage on 5V_S3. Barely goes from 0V to 0.02 and back. 3V3_S3 cycles though.
I just wanted to edit post above to say clearly that resistance is not measured with power applied.
I didn't inject voltage with charger plugged in.
So, charger connected, board doesn't start. I unplug it, check resistance (10 Ohms and goes slowly to 6 kOhms). Okay, should be good, thinking to...
