I hear a lot about XinZhiZao server but I've never been able to find it. Do you have to pay? is there a direct link?
So I've learnt something new about the iMac Pro. The button under the diagnostic lights is used to display the lights when pressed. This was showing 1 light and after using...
No short to ground on the broken coil.
At the moment I have 12v coming from the power board (4 screw terminals light the Apple dustbin), no lights on the diag but if I press the reset button (like on the A1534, A1932) and keep it pressed I get one light. Once I let go the light goes off. 3.3v...
We have an iMac Pro 27" 2017 here that someone has tried to repair but in taking the logicboard out have pulled a component off. The original fault was that it wasn't booting, which I suspect is a problem with the T2 but they decided to replace the power board and hence damaged the board.
Can...
Well after pumping the amps to max and using the thermal camera found the problem to be U2800!!! hidden by the shield after removing this I can clearly see 1 burnt component!!!!
Removed U2800, replaced L7690 back and now I have 3V3_S5!!
I was worried about putting the amp to max as it's going to the PCH and I didn't want to cause any damage to it. I suppose the schematics says that max can be is 7.33A max so I will try this and use the thermal camera.
U7650 along with Q7680 and Q7660 have all been changed and have come from a working board, so I know that they are all fine.
I don't think this is a problem with U7650 as my first post says 'Replaced U7800 still the same. Removed L7690 and the fluctuation is coming from the system side (pin 1)'...
Yes steps so far. Put R7662 back, removed C7668 bridge and removed U7890 with a bridge from pin4 to 6
I get 0v on 3V3_S5 but PP5V_S5 is stable at 5v.
Just in case it helps from U7650 voltages:
Pin 4 - 0.00
Pin 12 - 3.42
Pin 13 - 2.0
Pin 21 - 3.42
Pin 22- 3.2
Pin 23 - 13.1
Pin 29 -...
I've put R7662 back, left C7668 bridged and I only now get 5.17v 0.27a
With the bridge removed back up to 12v 0a 3V3_S5 is 0v and PP5V_S5 is stable at 5v.
Just in case it helps from U7650 voltages:
Pin 4 - 0.00
Pin 12 - 3.42
Pin 13 - 2.0
Pin 21 - 3.42
Pin 22- 3.2
Pin 23 - 13.1
Pin 29 -...
Pin 4 - 0.00
Pin 12 - fluctuating between 3.42 and 0
Pin 13 - fluctuating between 2.0 and 0
Pin 21 - fluctuating between 3.42 and 0
Pin 22- 3.2
Pin 23 - 13.1
Pin 29 - fluctuating between 5.0 and 0
Fluctuations are approximate as I can't get an exact voltage figure.
Just in case you need to...
Sorry to jump in but can I ask where you found the boardview for this model. I too have the BVR but would really like the other version. I tried the XinZhiZao server but our company won't allow due to 'virus detected'
Very small amount of liquid damage on the LCDBKLT caps (C8469, C8411) and around the U3700 Wifi. Stuck it in the ultrasonic cleaner and replaced the 2 caps. Still on 20v 0a.
Started trouble shoots the rails:
PPBUS - 13.10v
PP3V3_S5 - fluctuating
PP5V_S4 - fluctuating
PP5V-S5 -fluctuating...

I have a burnt one here pin7 is completely corroded and i'm think that it's damaged. I've got spare chips and I can get the adaptor but want to check if anyone can give me a working firmware before I order the adaptor.
Thanks
