    820-02100 intermittent or slow charging

Good call. found some corrosion and fixed it and diode check everything good. fired it up and was good for a moment then went to 5v no amp draw. U5200 shorted out. fek. is there anywhere to get one besides donor? I've been looking but not figuring it out.

    820-02100 intermittent or slow charging

There was signs of liquid near R5220 but nothing appeared corroded. Initially I thought battery mustve gotten damaged as it was loopiing and new battery brought it to life but now I'm realizing the original battery was likely just completely dead from not being able to charge.

    820-02100 intermittent or slow charging

Hi there, This Mac was constantly chiming. Tried multiple 140w chargers and cords first, then battery and flex. SMBUS BATT SCL/SDA test good. It wont dfu restore as I'm guessing its getting interrupted? Error is Gave up waiting for device to transition from RestoreOS state to BootedOS state...

    820-01700 not booting

No liquid or anything it just quit working while customer was using it. Sometimes it gets stuck at 5v and no Amp draw but if I SMC reset it or put it in DFU will go back to 20V again.

    820-01700 not booting

Was not getting past 5v. All the charging chip diode settings were good so I reflowed left side and 20v back but no life. DFU restored and went through properly but still nothing. CPU voltage is at .995V so I think that's proper? connected drive is not showing any data activity. I did a PRAM...

Ended up replacing both and behavior remains the same.

820-02020 runs on battery, doesnt charge

No. I recovered the data by network file sharing. Now it no longer booted I’m guessing stuck in recovery from trying to dfu? Or maybe battery is drained? I don’t think that’s the case though. Or maybe I was lucky it seemed it mustve detect charger enough to activate the battery.

820-02020 runs on battery, doesnt charge

water spill. couple spots that I could see appear unaffected and in areas not related to problem. I tried dfu with jumper switch also.

820-02020 runs on battery, doesnt charge

Both ports go to 5.12V 120mA and then 5V 0A and cycle again. All diode readings around both cd3217 are basically perfect. Reflowed them and swapped UF260 as I was guessing some sort of comm issue. I think the Mac goes into DFU when trying but is not detecting through the ports/showing on...

00045 data recovery from board that stopped charging

SMC_ADAPTER_EN, PP3V3_SUS AND PM_RSMRST_L are missing. Whats weird is customer says mac just stopped charging and then eventually ran oout of battery. I thought for sure no that dcin back to 20v it would work but no.

00045 data recovery from board that stopped charging

Customer states the Mac was working until the battery went dead. Was 5v on USB meter. Found short at U4700. Replaced. Now 20v. NO amp draw. Seems stuck in S5 state. Missing PM_RSMRST_L? Not sure how this would be related to the original issue.

It does not wake after natural or intentional sleep whether lid open OR closed and then opened.

    820-01700 not waking up

It did wake up after 5 minutes but I left it over night and it wont wake again without killing the power.

    820-01700 not waking up

This mac crashes and kernel panics when trying to wake from sleep after ~5 mins.Only way to get it back is to force shut off and power up. Acts normal otherwise other than when you force it to power off the fans will run up just as it dies. All values at J4802 match working board. Replaced...

Have you seen or heard of temporary backlight at initial power up?

    820-1987 Image no Backlight.

Replaced a few more caps on PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT_F after burnig up some more caps. DIode mode there is consistently 1.12 there. Now I'm getting backlight briefly on initial power up and voltage will remain at 54V then drops to 12V and then down to basically zero. KBD backlight voltages seem to...
