Hi Louis
I cancelled my subscription (I'm just too busy right now to make full use of it...) but payment was still deducted the next day from Paypal and account reactivated? Can you check it out for me please.
Is that true? Every other machine I have worked on, the fan starts with POST. Anyway not the issue here, I thinking SMC_FAN_0_CTL should be higher and my SMC maybe the issue.
This one was liquid damaged, the keyboard backlight connector was the only visible damage, apart from that it boots fine, but no fan spin.
Measured Q6060 it has:
Pin 1 - 3.37mv on gate
Pin 2 - 3.3v on source
Pin 3 - 3.37mv on drain
Swapped it out but same measurements.
R6061 is good.
What...
I have a 256GB SSD from a liquid damaged A1502, have repaired the MLB but the SSD will not mount, I was going to chuck it but noticed a few blown components and so thought about trying a repair.
Does anyone have any nfo on this? So far have not been able to find any schematics so don't know...
Thanks guys, sounds like mission impossible. I guess I will replace U7200 and U7330 and then see where its at.
Do you think Apple have a Department of Liquid Damage who have the task of building boards that can maximize the damage caused by liquid intrusion
Have a liquid damaged 15" Retina. I'm going off the Schematic and BV for an 820-3662 which isn't exactly the same, seems like schematic isn't available yet.
I have magsafe lights but wont power on. I can feel U7330 getting hot, will order in and replace, culprit of my PPBUS_G3H??
PPBUS_G3H -...
Thanks Louis, okay obviously I'm missing some of the basics here. So my diode mode measurement shows a voltage drop of 0V because cpu vcore has such low voltage and resistance.
I think your three steps to a skullfucked board maybe correct.
No PM_SLP_S4_L when I hit power.
Dead GPU?
First post here, new to component level repair so feel free to dumb any answers down ;)
This machine has had some work done, not sure what but previously only working on external display. I found liquid damage around the U8000 (looked like coffee, but maybe was flux) But I also found L9011 had...
