00165 missing EDP_BKLT_EN

hi I now have 2 macbooks a 164 and a 165 which are both missing EDP_BKLT_EN, is this a common fault with broadwell,
both boards have image on screen but no backlight
q7707 pin 5 diode mode 0.77V to ground, and 100k ohms to ground
smc_lid 3.42V
