These should be a lot easier to get. Just need to avoid scamming Chinese. Also it is not as expensive as receiving 50 fake GPUs.

Have you seen the 3787 board suffer KPs as well as black screens?

Mine had different date codes and the edges were a bit crumbled. Also the pads on the sides of the chip should all be copper colored.

Got the first 10. They look good, same date codes, no tell-tale marks.

I'm looking for compatible chips. 6808 was only used by Apple so finding these new will be hopeless. I'm pretty sure FDMF6708N is a good replacement, anyone want to try? If you are in US you can get them quick from Mouser, I have them on order from China.

I'll give it a try with the 6708N.
There are quite a few DC/DC chips (FDMF67XXX FDMF68XXX) that seem to fit the bill. The only notable difference seems to be current capability and 5V or 3V3 PWM input. I've not properly look at the data sheets though, just a quick glance at Absolute Max, Pin Out and Typical Application sections.

No very few fit the bill as it needs the ZCD function on pin 1 and be at least 40A.
