820-00165 with water damage(screen connector area looks clean), IO board replaced, cleaned the corrosion and the machine booted up. Survived MacOS install. An hour later the screen died(have backlight + white horizontal lines). Used external monitor and it output OK. Tested dead screen with known good board and screen confirmed dead (have backlight + white horizontal lines)
Now, testing a good screen with the above bad board only gave a backlight blink/flicker once and then backlight is off, I can see the dim apple boot logo and images.
However, whenever I put back the dead screen onto the bad board it actually have backlight, the backlight voltage is 25v. whenever I put the good screen on it, the backlight will only blink once.
