820-00165 No light, will run off power or battery but no charge, no indications of water damage. board is super clean. Checked DC in board and jumper. SMC reset was 1.9v but pp3v42_g3h was 3.4v. checked the pull up resistor and it was 100k as its supposed to be. I replaced u5110 and now my SMC reset is 2.9v but it seems it will move around. still no light on charger. i suspect bad SMC. not sure though what should i try.

Machine should work without flex connected between logic board and LIO board.
Do this in case you suspect something bad on LIO board.
Is battery recognized on OSX?
Post PPBUS voltage with only charger connected.
Also post it with battery alone and finally with both charger and battery connected
Post voltage at pin15 of U7100 too.
Check voltage and resistance to ground on SCL/SDA from battery bus.
Reflow SMC using quality flux, to burn the crap underneath.
Do this in case you suspect something bad on LIO board.
