History!

I got this MacBook in working condition . Just replaced U6100 to eliminate Efi password. It worked fine until I took out the motherboard to get some readings and comparisons in order to fix another exactly the same board that was dead.

Suddenly the working MoBo went dead.



Only yellow light on the charger, no fan spin.



Here are some readings!

PPDCIN_G3H 16.53 v

PP3V42_G3H 3.38v

PPBUS_G3H 8.52 V

PP3V3_S5 3.3V

PP5V_S4RS3 0.0 V

PP3V3_SUS 0.72V

Inspect for broken trace, or knocked off components first.

Post PM_BATLOW_L, SMC_ADAPTER_EN, PM_DSW_PWRGD, PCH_DSWVRMEN and the 4 PCH's RTC signals.

PM_BATLOW_L 3.27V
SMC_ADAPTER_EN 3.7V
PM_DSW_PWRGD 3.7V
PCH_DSWVRMEN 2.1 V

I don't know how to read 4 PCH's RTC signals

I've found this IC chipped underneath I don't know if this is the reason why PP3V3_SUS is 0.72 V instead of 3.3v.

Looks broken, change it.

I hope this "How to" collection will help our members. I will possibly modify this post in time, if updates available. Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L (PMU_ONOFF_L): It reffers to simulate power button function, when the keyboard is not connected. We need to do this when we work with the board...
