820-00239 High speed fan spinning

820-00239, without water damage, the board is very clean and I tested it in a known good MacBook.
It looks like the sensor issues, but the client reported that it’s happened after it stuck while an update, not water damage.

I booted from an external driver to get the sensor reading in the attached scre

any suggestions

On the working board, both Airport and Heatpipe Outgoing Air sensors report normal values?

Machine got stuck when updating to newer macOS?
In such case, you can try new full BIOS, clean ME.

Airport is normal on this board but Heatpipe Outgoing Air sensor should not be 128 Celsius. That is most likely the reason for the high fan spin

where is sensor located on the board to check ?

Thermal sensors are in page 56.
Check U5870 and the connections to its sensors.
