820-00239 - Not Charging Battery - Battery Detected

Hello guys,

I have a 820-00239 running perfectly fine except that it doesn't want to charge the battery or run off the battery. Battery is detected and charging symbol shows.

PPBUS_G3H = 13.1v

Q7065 pins 1,2,3 (PPVBAT_G3H_CHR_R) = 13.1v
pin 4 (BGATE) = 13.1v
pins 5,6,7,8 = 11.6v

When MacBook lid is closed, amps being pulled from charger is only 0.01. I tried existing battery as well as new battery. Same behaviour except the existing one is stuck at 1% and the 0% for the new battery.

Battery screw correctly tight?
Did you try known good original (even old) battery?

Do you get 3V3_G3H on battery only?

Battery screwed tightly 100%. Without the charger connected, old battery shows 2v (most likely because it's dead and hasn't been charging) and new battery shows 11.5v.

PP3V3_G3H is present with battery only only if new battery is put in. Old battery is probably just dead.

How do AMON/BMON signals work?

AMON/BMON report current passing through R7020/60 respectively.

I will not trust new chinese battery, if is the case...

I am not too sure what happened, but the ISL U7000 got reflowed and it started working. Didn't see any signs of corrosion here, but it did the job.

Unfortunately, I don't have too many reliable suppliers for batteries... mostly Amazon. :/
