820-00244 a1534 2016 - “Issue with memory module”

820-00244 2016 MacBook 12” a1534
No apparent damage, random failure - kernel panic when attempting boot. Looks fine inside and out.
Unable to successfully reinstall OS via bootable or internet. Able to access and securely wipe drive in recovery and target. Able to boot into Linux, shows 7.7Gb of RAM. Diagnostics immediately fail with PPM004 “There may be an issue with the onboard memory.”.
Reset PRAM and SMC multiple times.

Can’t seem to find related issues when searching and almost never see RAM fail. Something else?

drop damage? could be a cracked solder ball under the RAM chip. I would try reflow these RAM. Nudged each chip a little to verify it actually reflowed.

Bad RAM/CPU/trace/balls/board. This is going to suck! If you are in EU Apple has 2 year warranty.

Was able to copy an OS onto it but still just randomly crashes. Twice now.
Case looks perfect. Doesn’t appear to have ever been opened.
I’m in FL...
Will try to see if anything is out of the ordinary under the chips, then try a reflow if necessary.
Thanks guys.
