Hey Mr. Vali!

I have a Macbook pro 15 A1707 which is giving me a headache.

This mac has never been touched. I opened it for the first time. After a microscopic inspection, I didn't see any oxidized components.

The problem is, when I turn on the laptop with the battery inserted, it turns on but with no backlight.
Once it's on, I can't turn it off using the button. I have to disconnect the battery.

Interesting things:
If I plug it in with just the charger and then connect the battery it works perfectly. It charges the battery and discharges normally. It also works fine with just the battery connected. Even if you turn it off and then on again, it works perfectly. The problem occurs when I turn the mac off completely and disconnect the battery. Then I turn on the Mac with the battery and the charger connected and it starts to turn on without a backlight.
The same thing happens when the customer lets the battery go to 0% and then plugs it in with the battery + charger and the same problem occurs.

At first I thought it was peripherals, but I was wrong. I've already tested the motherboard in a Mac case belonging to a customer who came to replace the battery and the symptoms are the same.

Desperately, the only intervention I made on the motherboard was to replace the U7000 charge controller. But everything is exactly the same.

If you can help me get in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Check SMC_LID_LEFT/RIGHT signals?
What is the machine behavior, when close/open the lid?

Hey!
You are the best! always accurate!

how did I forget that part of the SMC_LID...

The problem was on SMC_LID right! the culprit was the component on top with 3 legs. Replace for a new one and now works perfectly.

Many thanks one more time.

Have a nioce day
