Hi there, if I let this iMac go to deep sleep, it either will not wake up from sleep or it will crash and restart. Sometimes the backlight comes on but screen stays blank. I believe I've seen this before a couple of times with this year/model and ended up with a new board and CPU to fix. Is there a known weak link with these? I've tested the ram extensively and thats good, passes hardware test, tried external drive ONLY. I inspected the CPU mosfets and put some fresh solder on some of those connections as some of the research I did suggested these boards may have a MOSFET issue.

I do see some kernel panics in the logs. I guess just looking on general insight if there is a weak link or not.

We know about similar problems caused by FDMF6808N on MacBook Pro machines, but didn't heard about such issue with FDMF5804.
Try changing them, just in case.

I ended up swapping the CPU and it has been working fine and waking normally and without kernel panics.
