820 - 00840 - a not charging (?) after liquid damage

Hi

Some liquid damage to the board, cleaned up, new battery, new 821-00614-a flex cable.
Unit asks to be plugged in, when plugged in shows its charging but never goes beyond that.
Any pointers?

So you can boot into OSX with charger connected?
Do you get amber light on Magsafe?
Describe liquid affected areas...

no boot - with charger I can only get the battery icon in the middle of the screen, without the charger I get the icon asking to plug it in

I have this usb c charger - idk if there is any led indicator on it

Liquid damage around U7220, q8030, c8192, c8192 and L7030, not much - little battery board was affected the most

Battery must be changed, if its circuitry has been affected by liquid.
But you should get the board working on charger only, without issue.

Check R7071 and post SMC_BC_ACOK.

R7071 is fine
SMC_BC_ACOK is 3.37v

I have a new battery
I get fan spin and with battery connected or disconnected it shows charging on the screen - I guess thats not right

You should reball SMC.
Also check for other corroded components and/or traces.
