well this one supposedly shut down whitout anything be done to it. i opened it up, not sign of any kind of damage. u3200 was heating up so i replaced it. i got 5v volts on this port. but the other one was doing nothing. so i replaced u3100 too. then now both ports are death, they dont show anu\ything on my usb c ampmeter. so where do i go from here?

Did you use same code termination?
I think there is CD3215C00...

Something happened when you've changed the chips; at least with the second one.
Bad solders, or bad/incorrect chip.

i checked and compared with original chips. its the same termination, the same one you put CD3215C00. im pretty confident with my soldering but, if you think is bad i can take them off and reball them. by the way i reflowed them...i tested for voltages too, and i dont get anything anywhere everything is 0v. i guess i gotta reball them, and if that doesnt work, replace both of them?

well i reflowed them again just in case. now i get 5v volts on bottom port, with 0.3A. top port still dead. and bottom port only works on one side , if i turn it around, it doesnt work....corroded port?. i mean in these is supposed to work whatever way i plug it in.

CD3215 chips have few different power rails; like 1V1, 1V8, 3V3, 5V.
Even not all these rails get voltage, a bad reading can points to a bad chip...

well i got this. it was a shorted u3200. a brand new one was shorted :). I noticed because when i took out F3010,C3404,3201 and D3400, i still had short to ground. i write it jst in case it matters...i replaced U3200 with a brand new one. now i get 5v on both ports. top port, gets 5v and marks 0.07A and keeps ampmeter turned on. bottom port, marks 5v volts too, but draws 0.3A, but ampmeters keeps on resetting. when i tested with the top port i dont get PP3V3_G3H and PPBUS_G3H is 1.5v. with bottom port, i get a pulses on PP3V3_G3H and 5v pulses on PPBUS_G3H...moreover, bottom port works only on one side, if i turn the plug around it doesnt work. i guess the usb c port itself is corroded?

shorted U3200. replaced with brand new one.

Now i get 5v on both ports.

when i connect charger on port corresponding to U3100, i get 5v with 0.3A. but type C ampmeter keeps turning on and off. i get voltage at PP3V3_G3H and PPBUS_G3H when ampmeter is on.

when i connect charger on port corresponding to U3200, i get 5v with 0.1A. type C ampmeter keeps steady, but i dont get PPBUS_G3H or PP3V3_G3H.

"i get voltage at PP3V3_G3H and PPBUS_G3H when ampmeter is on"
Can we know these voltages?

Board has different behaviour on the USB-C ports, so you still have problems with one port.

"Compare diode mode readings on all power rails of both CD3215 chips."
You still need to do that...

if i connect throught U3100 port, i get 3v at PP3V3_G3H and 5V at PPBUS_G3H. mind you these are only pulses, since the ampmeter keeps on turning on and off...

when connected through U3200 port, i get 0v at pp3v3_g3h and 2v at PPBUS_G3H.

in U3100, PP20V_USBC_XA_BUS i get 45 in diode mode.

In U3200 , at PP20V_USBC_XB_BUS i get a open circuit...

I reflowed U3200. now the port for U3100 stopped shutting on/off the amp meter. still when i connect thorough the port of U3200 there are rails that dont come up...

another bad U3200?, or is there something else to check??
