A2338 - Pristine condition.. I took out of the board and inspected it.. nothing.. as if the computer is barely used even.

Anyway, customer said they tried erasing/formatting it and it got stuck on Apple logo preventing to go further.. I asked them why they tried to erase it from the first place? They said it turned off randomly once.. then they erased it and it worked out for a few days then it shut off again..

I put the computer in DFU; I downloaded the latest Ventura IPSW and restored it.. during the "Installing.." it restarts then it shows the exclamation mark with Apple link to restore..

I got numerous error codes among them: 4013, 4010, 21..

edit #1: it never goes to boot selector.. when it says "Loading Boot Options.." it shuts off..

Update: reprogrammed SoC ROM with clean BIN. After restore it gave me error 6 (while I think it lasted longer in "Installing..").. I restored another time and it gave me error 100.
(still refusing to enter boot select)

Try with empty SoC ROM.
Connect cable charger before DFU cable.
Be sure the machine still gets current from charger, not from DFU cable.
If confrmed, then start DFU.
Should be good to have battery connected too.

- SoC ROM erased
- Battery connected
- Power cable plugged prior to DFU cable (power cable was getting 5.2V stable no amp draw)
- MacBook was in DFU mode; restore process started
- Error 4010

I tried another round and still getting 4010.

0A means the machine doesn't get power from charger.
It should take 0.05-0.1A; this also depends by model.

That's a remarkable observation on your behalf. It's taking 5v with 0 amp. I tried another charger and it switched to 20v whilst 0 amps.
I returned the original ROM data and its still taking 20v 0 amps (it went back booting to the apple.com/restore link)..
I don't know how I skipped this without noticing..
Do I check the CD3217s now? Do I check the power rail voltages and check for shorts? Or is there a component level issue such as the battery being bad maybe?

One thing I've noticed before I return the original ROM data is that the ROM is still erased as it is.. the restore/install has not even reached the process or the segment where it writes on ROM.

Both ports behaving the same. 20V 0.0A

PPBUS = 12v
PP3v8_AON = 3.3v
PP3v3_S2 = 3.3v
PP3v3_S2_UPC = 3.3v
PP5v_S2 = 5.1v
PP1v25_S2 = 1.25v

PPBUS is being low where it should be around 12.6 and above if I remember correctly.

PPBUS without the battery = 12V
PPBUS with the battery = 13V
Both USB-C ports switch to 20V with and without battery.
