This M3 MacBook has a partial short on pp3v3_s2. The heat signature suggests SN25A12 @ UF500 is the culprit.

Are these chips paired? Can I replace with a Chinese AliExpress version?

Or if I just remove the chip will everything else work allowing me access to data so I can backup? Thanks.

You must replace with chip from same model donor board; together with corresponding TBT ROM chip.

Ok thanks, just to confirm I’m understanding, only way to access data again is going to be to find a donor board and take the SN25A12 from it along with the TBT ROM chip and replace both?

I'm waiting for a confirmation from Master Liu shop; he possibly have them for sell.
