customer brought in a 820-2850 with no backlight. looked like liquid damage. the screen lvds cable had messed up pins on 40 and 39. checked the Q9807. its good. i jumped the Q9807 to pin 1 of the R9704 to test if the u9000 was bad but no backlight still. what is the best/ most simplified way of testing the voltage dividers/ mosfet? to find whats wrong?

Thanks

first think i would do is to check to see if the proper voltage is getting to the mosfet. then i would change the lvds connector and cable

okay got the backlight working now. but during the testing the computer wont boot fully into osx. sometimes it makes it past the apple logo loading screen and into the login menu but when trying to log in it restarts. and most of the time its restarting during the end of the apple boot up process. any ideas?

Thanks
Nate

i guess i should have noted that i have replaced the c9560 (with a new full size) already and it was still not loading right. it reboots when loading. and if i press the power button it just turns off immediately.
Normally i find i have to hold the power button down for a good few seconds.

i also tested the osx and its 100% working.

(I really cannot believe how many i get in that are the c9560 issue though.)

also im not sure its the computer, but the keyboard seems to work in the option menu but when the computer loads osx the keyboard wont work. it does not have the trackpad installed if that will affect the keyboard?
