820-2936-B missing PM_SLP_SUS_L

This 820-2936-B was waterdamaged. It has a green light but wont turn on. I replaced all bad looking components and cleaned the board. I cheched power rails and PP5V_SUS is missing because the enable is missing too. This enable is created by U7940 and PM_SLP_SUS_L. R7918 is only 0.5K Ohm ( but i think that is fine) abnd PM_SLP_SUS_L is only 0.7V. I replaced U7940 but no change. Diode mode reading on PM_SLP_SUS_L is 0.223V. Now i am stuck.

Thank you very much for the great explanation. I took U7940 and R7918 off the board and still only 500 Ohms to GND. So i try to reflow U1800 (i have nothing to lose in a case like this - maybe there was water under it) and i also ordered two new chips so i can try to swap U1800 completely... I can only learn from boards like this and i have not so many boards to work on right now... In the case that i get this thing to work how can the BIOS be reprogrammed?

Need a programmer to do the BIOS. But it will work as-is for testing purposes. Once the board turns on and has an image the BIOS can be fixed. The TL866 is a good programmer for cases like these.

Thank you. I try to get it to post and get back to you it it turns on. In the mean time i try tp understand the BIOS some more. Today i have no idea how this works, what the ME region is and how it can be fixed/reprogrammed...

Could be bad soldering but could also be a dead CPU, or corrosion pretty much anywhere. Not sure if you should waste more time on this one.

sorry wrong window...

I have not so much to do at the moment so i will give it a try i think. Is there anything i can check or should i try to replace the PCH again? I was hoping that the CPU would be alive as it beeps and the CPU is getting a bit warm - the new PCH is getting warmer than the CPU but still not hot.
