820-3024 - Battery showing X, but runs off battery

hey guys,

820-3024

Green light, no signs on liquid damage at all, green light, no orange,

Computer runs off charger, and when battery is plugged in shows X, when i unplug the charger, it still shows X but it actually runs off the battery, so computer stays on,

if battery plugged in and computer off, it DOES NOT come on until i plug charger again,


- resistance between(u7000) 17/18 is 4.0 ohms and 27/28 is 20.9 , r7005 20.6 ohms



please help, and thank you guys in advance,

Exact voltage at F7040?
W/ and w/o battery connected; charger always connected, of course...

Voltage and resistance to ground at SCL/SDA lines of battery bus?

Voltage pins 9 & 15 of U7000?

"17/18 is 4.0 ohms"
2.7 ohms sounds better; leads resistance included (2.2 w/o)...

John, I did try a new battery, and also tested with a separate exact same board, and all batteries are good, Thank you so much for your input,

I would look at pins 4 and 5 at the battery connector, it looks like a problem with those data lines and it can't detect the battery, It appears the charger and battery line tie together, so maybe when it can't
detect the battery it won't turn on, but once it is on, the battery power is bonded to the power so it will draw from there once the charger says DC is available. Also possibly R6950, which looks is the path for the battery to ground for it to detect it is connected to a computer, maybe if that isn't there it won't talk on 4/5. Just speculating from the schematic.

F7040, 8.16V with and without battery, on both sides.

SMBUS_BATT_SCL - 3.39v

SMBUS_BATT_SDA - Bounces from 3.39 to 0.17v back to 3.39v and continues to do the same

U7000 PIN 9 - 0.22V PIN 15 - 0.72V

resistance between(u7000) 17/18 is 3.4 ohms this time :/
