820 3115 screen flicker

13 inch macbook pro 820 3115 just had a new hard drive and all good.
Been brought back in with screen flicker. It has been worked out that then tapping the top left of the housing by the esc key the screen flickers and the computer stops responding. Restarting it fixes the issue. Tilting the screen doesn't have any effect.
Has anyone seen this before? Is it an lcd problem or board problem? Maybe then lcd cable?

Sounds like the screen is bad or the cable is loose

Tilting and twisting the screen has no effect on it, just the tapping on the casing by the escape key. Moving the lcd cable around doesn't cause the problem either.

Water damage around LCD connector, feedback resistors or around LP8550??

If the machine locks up then it has nothing to do with the LCD. Locking up is very often a bad RAM slot.

Bad ram slot as in replace it or reflow the solder joints?

No, just max out the slot that is still working. If it locks up on both slots then the board is junk.
