no water damage, runs fine off of batt

when you plug in AC the green light blinks on super quick every like 2 seconds

R7080 was reading like 2.3k so I replaced but still reading same

any ideas before i take board out to check R7085 or replace ISL

replaced Q7080 and now everything seems fine charging, except it turns on every time you plug the cord in

That is normal when either the battery is disconnected or it was not shut down from inside OSX. Did you do a PRAM reset too?

yeah i know that behavior but this is different
it does it even when in sleep
if i disconnect or connect the cord it wakes up and stays on

never seen that before, what part of the circuit would cause that?

I have no idea really. If you shut it down from OSX does it power on again after you connect power? Make sure the option "restart after power failure" is not enabled in OSX. Not sure if this is supported on MacBooks though, it is on desktop machines.
It could be that there is an issue with the RTC power supply. Check if it is present when only battery connected.

yeah whenever you plug in cord or unplug cord computer acts as if power button has been pressed. whether asleep or off.

check PPVRTC_G3_OUT ?

If RTC is an issue the time and date would also be reset/wrong after AC power was removed for a few minutes. I really have no idea besides that.
