820-3332-A with no audio

Hello,

bought a Macbook Pro 15 Retina mid 2012 with damaged audio jack, internal speakers work fine. When I plug in a known good audio board 821-1548-A (headphone jack), nothing works, no internal speakers, no headphones, and I get the red light inside port.

Any suggestions?

Pretty sure your known good jack is the problem. Removing R6896 should also fix the problem.

I took the known good jack from another Retina 15 early 2013 and it is definitely OK. Will removing R6896 kill the digital out functionality? If that's the case, I can live with that. Thank you for the useful answer.

Yes it will disable SPDIF, who really cares?
