820-3437 No 5v

Hey guys.

This one was working fine. Refused to turn on one day. NO drop. NO waterdamage.
Upon inspection found short on ppbus_g3h. Removed short.

I cant see pp5v_s5 missing.
 
So many questions..
Do you have a light/ any fan spin now? Where was the short and is it gone now? Did you replace the component?
What do you mean you can’t see pp5v_s5 missing?
How does U7501, J4800/L4820/C4810 and U7400 look?

no light no fan spin
short was on c7090 i found through flir
when i say pp5v is missing i mean its 0v
U7501, J4800/L4820/C4810 and U7400 look fine

No light and PPBUS at 8.2V means SMC is not running. Check SMC_RESET and check for crap in SMC area or dead SMC.

I am sorry but this has NOTHING to do with PPBUS being 8.2V. That is just swapping parts and hoping it helps. You should diagnose, not swapping parts.
