hello

have a board with missing PP5V_S3
PP5V_S5 is present;
PPBUS_G3H present;

The mac came to the shop before with battery issue before, now a power rail is missing, tried to find the issue by myself (didn't inject current mindlessly) but no luck, help will be very appreciated :)

First of all, welcome to the forum!

What is the exact PPBUS_G3H voltage (no battery)?
Do you get 3V3_S5/SUS?
Be sure to use original Magsafe 2 charger.

thanks for the welcome :)

voltage on ppbus 12.54v no battery
3v3_S5 3.32v; SUS 3.32V

using a 60W original magsafe

Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for drop pulse at PM_PWRBTN_L (at same time).
You can use R5115/16 pads, instead of power button.

just to be sure i short the pads at R5116 and check for the voltage drop.

PS: yeah i shorted at R5116 and saw a drop at PM_PWRBTN_L, i want to be sure to not kill it xD

Check for pulse at PM_SLP_S4_L, at same time.
If detected, you should catch pulse on some big coils too.

You must make temporary short on mentioned resistors pad; like pressing power button.
Do not maintain the pads shorted.

If no reaction, there is PCH related problem.
Check PM_BATLOW_L, PM_DSW_PWRGD, PCH_DSWVRMEN, SMC_ADAPTER_EN, PM_RSMRST_L and the 4 PCH's RTC signals (DC, not clock).

"the 4 PCH's RTC signals"
Probably good...

"PM_BATLOW_L 0.035v"
There is the problem.
85W original Magsafe 2 charger for sure?

damn it such a rookie mistake... the one the client always used was the one i was testing with... i wasted my and your time aaaaah, welp i have another one on which i need a pro opinion, will make a new thread

so the issue is different... the pc doesn't recognize the battery, that's why it worked with his old charger 60W because it was leveraging the battery before it stopped working... with the 80W the Mac turn on but it has battery symbol with X.

The battery is at 12V but won't turn on

R7050 is 10k

By " SCL/SDA" you mean smbus_smc_5_g3_scl and smbus_smc_5_g3_sda?
smbus smbus_smc_5_g3_scl 3.4v charger,3.2v battery, 2.3v diode
smbus_smc_5_g3_sda 3.4v charger, 3.2v battery, 2.2v diode

smbus smbus_smc_5_g3_scl 0.54v red on ground
smbus_smc_5_g3_sda 0.53v red to ground
sorry

PS: If i disconnect the power when the Mac is on it will be on, but if i don't give it power it won't turn on

The values are correct.
Battery is the first suspect there; test with known good one.
Be aware, "new chinese" is not same as "known good".

If you are in laptops repair bussines, get a dedicated tool to diagnose and repair the batteries.
Is the best tool on the market.

yeah... we buy only A+ grade batteries, i guess it was the clients power supply, we will change the battery and sell them the correct 85w power supply
