820-3787 wont pram reset after changing to pre-programmed u6100 firmware chip

I don't have way to reload bios so purchased a pre-loaded for this 820-3787. I've done these before no issues. I checked to make sure pin 1 is positioned and pins are good solder. I can do SMC reset as light changes on charger but PRAM reset does initial fan spin but never shuts down and restarts... Can I assume the U6100 is no bueno? Anything else to check? I've tried with external keyboard also.

I dont get any display with the new pram. Fan spin charger light changes normally, and acted correctly for SMC reset. I tried holding down power button while pluggin in charger to see if anything different would happen but now display/backlight nada. Just fan spin... no chime.

Looks like board is not working at all, just turning on.
Why do you complain about chime then?

Do you consider is good option to buy written BIOS chips, instead of doing them yourself???
An USB programmer can be aquired for less than 5 bucks.
Medusa programmer is not cheap, but can do many things and save a lot of time.
And "time is (guess what)"...

I have considered it but haven't hardly even had time to look into what to buy or how to do it... one of those things where I know it will be cheaper and faster in the end but trying to keep my head above water. Kind of like needing to spend time training somebody is a better move long term but sucks short term... I need to train ME on how to do it. :) I will get to it at some point for sure.

Do you have a recommendation for a usb programmer that I can simply download/buy firmware and push to the chip after it's removed from the board? I found some that plug to the j-connectors and some that work with chip off the board but wondering what's most cost effective product that I can simply use to write new bios?

Yeah I’ve noticed! Haha. I was hoping to find something easy but I can’t justify a Medusa as i won’t have the volume to justify that spend anytime soon. I’ll check out the ezp 2019
