Dunno what apple store did but laptop came to me after customer brought to apple store and they said they couldn't fix it. It started as a simple lcd crack but now has no lcd.

noticed c8353 and r8342 were ripped off. i replaced them both and ran a wire to ground (ground side of c8353 pad was gone). now i get video on monitor but nothing on lcd.

with lcd conneted (tested good and yes 2015 version)

pins 1-26 are 0v
pin 27 - 5.133v
pin 28 - 5.133v
pin 29 - 0v

Pin 27 is a GND pin....
Getting a 5V pulse on L8300? Measure when turning it on and keep an eye on the meter.

sorry duke feel like a dumbass. was looking at the pins backwards.

pins 5-30 are 0v
pin 4 - 5.133v
pin 3 - 5.133v
pin 2 - 0v
pin 1 - .002v

L8300 has 5.136 volts for about 8 seconds after chime then drops to 0. (this was with no lcd attached)

That means it is not recognizing the LCD. Could be bad LCD/cable/connector. Also check the caps and resistors in the AUX DP lines, check all those caps while you are at it. Connector is a common issue

LCD was borrowed from my personal mac which is 2015 as well so i know is working. i replaced the connector. soldering was good. same issue.

sorry duke i don't know which is the aux dp lines are. is it possible to be a little more specific?

I checked path to and caps and the caps themselves all were good. lemme know if i should check anything else. looked to me those were then only things on the line and after they went to the cpu.

okay computer chimes, but it sits on a black screen for about 1 minute before i get the apple logo now. why is it taking so long to boot up?

smc and pram reset done and known good ssd. it turns on and boots, just takes forever and a day to boot to apple logo. but once it does works fine.

You really tried with another SSD after a PRAM reset? When you select the boot device in the menu does it go straight to Apple logo then?
