Hello,

I have an A1398 that came in for thermal mass replacement. However, after the thermal mass application, the mac starts at full fan speed and gets a bit laggy (the cursor freezes a lot and it seams to be running very slowly).

Do you have any idea about what it can be? I'm pretty sure that i haven't knoked out any components...

You can isolate ALS lines from the webcam connector.
Cut off their lines, if no resistor/coil placed in series.

If you don't care about webcam, just leave it disconnected.

Hi, again...
After all, it seams that the problem isen't on the webcam only. The webcam isen't working, but after a few days the problem has returned. Full fan speed and very slow mac.
I'm waiting for a trackpad flex to arrive. Is there any other tests that i can make, while waiting?
Tks.

Hi,
Sorry about the new thread.
The webcam is disconnected and the board is an 820-00246-A.
I already tried with a new trackpad (same cable), but same result. I'm waiting for a new trackpad cable

The RIO board is disconnected and it is a 00426-A board...

I'm not sure if this behavier is normal, but on the benck PSU, it starts consuming 2.38 A (powered off), and when it powers on, it reaches 4.3 amp
