Hi,

I have an A1466 820-00165-A that has problems with trackpad. Already replaced 3 TP, but they all die after a while.

The trackpad board gets very, very hot, and after a few days the trackpad and keyboard stop working.

I have no ideia from where to start.

Can you help?

HI

I think that all values are normal, except TPAD_SPI_CS_R_L on pin 11 (i think).

J4800:

1=3.419V
2=0.050V
3=0V
4=0.002V
5=0.002V
6=0V
7=0.045V
8=0.003V
9=0.008V
10=3.315V
11=2.956V
12=0.614V
13=0.585V
14=5.140V
15=0.318V
16=3.342V
17=3.360V
18=3.403V
19=3.418V
20=3.416V

I don't see any reason for TP board to get hot by itselff, if all its power rails are in range.
Are you sure the heat is not caused by the battery?

Just in case, bypass L4820 and R4830.

Yes, I'm sure. I've already taken out the battery, and the big IC just under the TP cable conector, on the trackpad board, gets very hot (can't even leave the finger on top of it).

Sorry for my ignorance, but how can i bypass those exactly? Can i just remove them?
